Around our anniversary, I always feel grateful for all of Originate’s customers who have made it possible to make it to 19 years.  Our success is because of each of you choosing to include Originate in your renovations and new construction.  So thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We have spent the last 6 months of 2022 working on showroom displays to spruce things up and make some improvements.

  • We built an Earth Weave carpet display from old architectural blueprint hangers. This allows one to see each of the samples easily and then un-clip them from the wall hanger to take them down and check them out. This has been a thought in my mind for close to a decade, so super exciting to have that installed.
  • We put in an upgraded 2nd salvage door display. We had to quickly expand our door storage several years ago and just used pallets and scrap plywood and lumber. This is a new metal display with similar tracks as our original display. It is much sturdier, has more space and is easier to see those doors. We organized all of the doors by style now too!
  • We installed a hanging Organoid Natural Surfaces display, similar to our large American Clay display. It shows off all of the natural materials like alpine hay, flower petals, moss, felt and coffee prominently. The display is visible from entering the showroom and brightens up the space next to the paint bar. Plus it smells amazing! We are planning a low cabinet showing how Organoid can be integrated into furniture pieces in the new year.
  • We spruced up our succulent planter wall in the courtyard with Rubio Monocoat’s Wood Cream in 5 colors. The wood cream adds water repellency and some fun coloring. The planter is made from Richlite and Paperstone super large pallets.
  • Lastly, we started a stain display that has been in my head for easily a decade. The idea is to show all of our stains that are available across oak, pine, fir and maple. This way you get a better idea of what the stain you are thinking about will look like installed in your space. This will be installed in early 2023.

Another new feature we are working on for 2023 is a new part to the website called Deep Dive. Many of you might not know I am an avid reader, I read 71 books last year.  One of the books I read ‘They Ask, You Answer’ by Marcus Sheridan, inspired this part of the website.  We are going to focus on the questions we have been asked repeatedly over the years about our products and answer those questions pro-actively.  Looking at comparing products and the pros and cons of different products to help you figure out what might work best for you.  If you have any questions you have always been curious about, write in and let me know – maybe we can use your question as a blog post.
